Late Mr Daniel Okpohwo was born in 1910 to the family of late Ughevwe. Late Pa Ughevwe gave birth to Etakefe and Eraborhe. Etakefe whose wife was from Iyeku’s compound whose name was Ateme gave birth to Odogba. After she gave birth to Odogba she left for Ughamugie where she gave birth to other children. Odogba gave birth to Daniel Okphwo through his wife Akabenyo from Eruemukowhoria. Although late Ma Akabenyo gave birth to many other children which are in the Eraborha family.

He learnt tailoring as a trade. This was what he did for many years until he decided to further his education and thereafter obtained his Grade Two Teacher’s Certificate to become a qualified teacher. From home he obtained several certificates/diplomas through distant learning.

Daniel Odogba was a teacher at Ekakpamre Primary School, Ekrerhavwen Primary School, Oruwhoru Primary School, Onenurhie Primary School, he was later transferred back to Ekrerhavwen Primary School from there he was posted to Oroakpor Primary school. It was this last station he worked before his retirement.

For many years he was in charge of communication in Ekrerhavwen which he was sole representative of the town’s postal services box. He was also a long time secretary, committee member, also the treasurer of Ekrerhavwen and a member of the council of elders. He also ran a chemist shop where he administered dispensary services to patients. As a Christian, Papa was baptized and confirmed in the African Church where he served as a chorister and the church committee official. We the children know him as a highly spiritual man who was gifted in the prophetic and healing. His positive words and hope building messages had always built his hearers to be possibility thinkers.

Papa was married to Mrs Raechel Odogba, the daughter of Mr Onoshagbegbe of Ekakpamre town and Mrs Josephine Odogba the daughter Obukowho of Ekrerhavwen town.
